Test Your Tattoo

Tattoo Back and ArmsSince tattoos are permanent wouldn’t be a good idea to test one before you get the ink applied?

There are a lot of things that can make a difference in the end appearance of your tattoo with the two major ones being location and size.

If you are putting a tattoo on your bicep how large should it be?

If you are putting a tattoo on your bicep how far down your arm should it be?

If you are putting a tattoo on your bicep what is it going to look like when you flex your arm?

If you are putting a tattoo on your lower back how wide should it be, how far down your back should it be, what will it look like when you bend?

These are all questions that you can’t really see the answer until you actually have the tattoo applied. But once you put the ink into your skin it isn’t easy to change.

Testing the tattoo actually on your body is the best and only way to get the answers to these questions.

But how do you test a tattoo?

You can look for a temporary tattoo that is similar to your tattoo design and try it on. This will give you a good idea of what the tattoo will look like once it is on your body but, more then likely, it won’t be the exact tattoo that you are looking for.

Tatto Girl Arm and ChestIf you have already found the perfect tattoo design for yourself and you have the tattoo stencil and color reference for your tattoo then it is possible to create your own custom temporary tattoo using special paper for your printer.

This can be done by simply printing out the tattoo design, using the color reference, in several different sizes and trying it on.

You should test the tattoo design in several different sizes and different locations to see where it looks the best. The special temporary tattoo sheets come in 8 ½ inch by 11 inch size so depending on the tattoo you should be able to fit several on one sheet. But for example if you are doing a lower back tattoo you might only be able to fit one or two per sheet.

You should wear your custom tattoo design for at least a day and ask your friends and family how it looks. This will not only give you and idea of where it will look the best, and the proper size for your tattoo but it will also give you an idea of how your friends and family will react to the tattoo.
